So, here we are with another Dorothy set to pack her bags and fly outta town. This show feels like padding though, as the votes are closed as usual because like all the Sunday shows, it is filmed the night before. Looking back on yesterday, John calls Jenny’s exit a “shock departure” – it was hardly that John, come on.
We then see a task involving final five Totos and the final five Dorothys. this simple and almost pointless task sees the girls in a group calling the dogs separately, seeing which dog ends up with who. Kids and dog trainers then vote for their favourite pair. Jenny and Spider win the judges’ vote and this is already pointless as Jenny has since flown over the rainbow. Sophie and Dave win the kids’ vote.
This one oddly mixes “The Matchmaker”, “Rich Girl” and “I Gotta Feelin” together. I say odd – there is clearly a Fiddler On The Roof connection two the first two, but the thrid song is very American Idol/X Factor and as it begins, we cut to Sheila looking really bemused. Her face says: “The point of this is..?” The main difference though between this section and Idol is that when there is a group number there it is not live. So, we are thankful for small mercies.
Graham reveals that Jessica is the only Dorothy not to have been in the Bottom Two. After yesterday’s terrible performance, I wouldn’t count her chickens before they’re hatched. Jess says she would like to thank “her fanbase.” Surely, this Lauren style comment is asking for trouble!
We then see a clip of an event earlier in the week as the girls take time out to see Tamsin Outhwaite in Sweet Charity at the Haymarket. Tamsin then appears in the studio to sing “If My Friends Could See Me Now” and she delivers an energetic and lively performance which is sure to do wonders for ticket sales, as it is something quite special.
Now we go to the results:
Sophie could still be Dorothy, Danielle though (Damn!) is in the bottom two. Lauren is through and Steph could still be Dorothy. Which leaves the lowest number of phone votes -Jessica. The two have to sing “Take That Look Off your Face” and thankfully Danielle is on the money as she acts the song, whereas Jess slouches, sings and pulls some faces.
The Lord saves Danielle which leaves Jess handing over her shoes. Next week it’s the Semi Finals and at this rate, it could go to any of these girls as they have all proven themselves. If I were to pick though – my girl is still Danielle – followed closely by Steph/Sophie. Lauren? She is competent but for me lacks the playfulness required.
Who is your fave, now that so many have left?
