Here Tessa Walker tells me about Traces and all the exciting things she wants to see here at Latitude.
What’s the play about?
It’s a show that has been written by six writers collaborating on one piece. They’re six writers who are on attachment to us for a year; they’re emerging writers. It’s a piece about the day in the life of one girl and how her actions affect a whole host of people for much longer than that day.
Can people see it after Latitude’s finished?
At the moment there’s no plans for it to go on past Friday and Sunday, but we did some previews at the North Wall last week.
Who should see it?
I don’t know, that’s a hard question. I think it’s a really good story and I think it’s beautifully written, so I think it will appeal to people who like good stories that are beautifully written!
What are you looking forward to seeing at Latitude?
I’m very excited about seeing Belle and Sebastian DJing and Regina Spektor. Bat for Lashes. Pet Shop Boys. I’ve got lots of friends who do something called Pay and Display, which is live art in a car, so I’m looking forward to seeing that. And some cabaret and some literature and some comedy….
