Latitude in a Minute: Holly Kendrick from the National Student Drama Festival

I caught up with NSDF director Holly Kendrick backstage at the Theatre Arena, immediately after the ensemble finished their second and final performance of Touched.

Tell me about Touched?

It’s a play about young people who’ve grown up in Leeds then go their separate ways, and what happens when you try and piece all those lives back together.

Who’ll enjoy it?

Everyone! It’s a fantastic play by Chris Thorpe who is one of the founding members of Unlimited. And it’s a play for young people, written by young people and performed by them.

Where can people see it next?

It’s just for Latitude. It was specially commissioned for the North Wall Summer Festival and Latitude, but hopefully it’ll be published. What would be wicked is if university groups across the country get to perform it.

What are your Latitude highlights?

Nabokov are completely amazing. I’ve already seen Joel Horwood’s play, which is great. And the Lyric Hammersmith I think will be amazing.
