Tell us about your show

We’re taking our production Hugh Hughes in…360. It’s the third of our Hugh Hughes productions that we’ve created. Hugh’s an emerging Welsh comic. He’ll be doing a show which we’re taking up to the Edinburgh Fringe.

Who’ll enjoy it?

If you’re a fan of comedians like Daniel Kitson and that kind of – not stand-up, joke after joke – but people who tell comic-stories you definitely shouldn’t miss the show. And anyone who knows our work already should definitely come along.

Was it created specifically for Latitude or does it have life elsewhere?

It’s a new show that we’re doing so this is a preview. We’ve been invited along by the Pleasance, who we’re doing the show with in Edinburgh (we’ll be on at 7.05pm at the Pleasance Courtyard from August 5 to 31). They’ve doing a launch of work that’s coming up to Edinburgh and we’re part of that group.

Have you ever done a festival before?

No, we’ve not. It’s very new to us. None of us have ever been to Latitude but we’re all really excited to be going.

How does performing at a festival compare to working in a traditional theatre context?

I have no idea. I’m really excited to introduce Hugh to a new group of people who might otherwise not have seen our work, who’ll hopefully follow us beyond that point. I think we’re all really excited to find out what it’s like and how it goes down.

Who are you hoping to see at the festival?

We’re excited about the Pet Shop Boys, on the music front. And our friends at the English Touring Theatre. And 1927, who have a fantastic show called Between the Devil and the Deep Blue Sea.
