Rain Man - 17 November
Theatregoers on our Whatsonstage.com Outing to see Hollywood heartthrob Josh Hartnett make his West End début opposite Olivier-nominated British actor Adam Godley at the Apollo Theatre in London’s West End last night were in for a real treat.
Not only were they seated in top price seats, they were also given a free programme and show poster on arrival at the theatre and were invited to stay on after the show for an exclusive Question and Answer session for which we were very excited to be joined by the full cast, including Josh Hartnett, Adam Godley, Mary Stockley, Tilly Blackwood and Charles Daish.
The cast were happy to chat about topics including the cross over from screen to stage, the draws of the West End, and tackling sentitive subject matter.
Rain Man is based on Barry Morrow’s original Oscar-winning screenplay and has been re-imagined for the stage by Dan Gordon. It tells the story of Charlie Babbit, who finds he has an unknown autistic brother while on the trail of his fathers missing inheritance. Finding that his brother, Raymond, has an extraordinary talent for numbers, he takes him on an extraordinary journey which will lead them across America.
Our photos from the evening show what a great success it was, and we would like to thank the cast and all the staff of the Apollo for making it such an unforgettable evening.
Highlights of the Q&A will be posted in the news section shortly.
Please do feel free to email your comments and thoughts about the play and the evening through to feedback@whatsonstage.com.
Thanks for joining us for this event, and do check the homepage to keep up to date on all of our upcoming Outings.
