The Revenger’s Tragedy - 15 July
On Tuesday night Whatsonstage.com was happy to return to the National Theatre with over one hundred Theatregoers to see Thomas Middleton’s bloody Jacobean play, The Revenger’s Tragedy. The production uses modern day dress and music to set off the extravagant, incestuous and bloody antics of those who dwell around the old lascivious old Duke and his sons.
With a boisterous start to the evening, our Theatregoers were plunged into a frenzy of Jacobean action from the comfort of their air conditioned Travelex seats. We were very pleased to greet all our Theatregoers in the beautiful surroundings of the National’s Olivier box office and to offer everyone a copy of our latest double issue magazine featuring all the latest news from across the West End.
After the show, Theatregoers were invited to enjoy a glass of wine, a beer or a soft drink at our post show cast reception. We had a fantastic turn out from the cast and technical staff including Rory Kinnear, Jamie Parker, Barbara Flynn, Tom Andrews, Tommy Luther, Robert McNeill, Simon Nagra and Jane Leaney as well as musicians Adrian Sutton and Gino Scaletti, all of whom seemed very happy to sign autographs, pose for photos and chat away at length over complimentary wine and beer. We hope you found this exclusive opportunity as much fun as we did.
Please do feel free to email your comments and thoughts about the play and the evening through to feedback@whatsonstage.com, or why not contribute your own review of the show?
Also, don’t forget to check the homepage for details of upcoming Outings and events.
Thanks again to all who came last night, see you next time!
