Marguerite Outing - 14 May 2008

On Wednesday night Whatsontage.com Theatregoers were treated to a sold out trip to the Haymarket to see the last in Jonathan Kent’s three production season, Marguerite. The new musical is a love story set in Paris during the Second World War. Marguerite is the beautiful and notorious mistress of a high ranking German officer stationed in the French capital, but she loosed her heart to a young musician with close ties to the resistance. As their love becomes stronger the war rages around them, making their secret meetings ever more dangerous.

This was one of the largest Outings Whatsonstage.com has undertaken. The event was so popular that we had to increase our allocation of tickets twice. In the end over 230 Theatregoers joined us to watch the heart wrenching musical love story unfold.

Our Theatregoers were all given a free poster on arrival at the theatre and were given the opportunity to have them signed by members of the cast as they enjoyed their free drink at the post show reception in the Theatre Royal’s beautiful Champagne Bar. We were very lucky to be joined by Jonathan Kent at the post show reception, as well as cast members including Keiron Crook, Matt Cross, Siubhan Harrison, Andrew C. Wadsworth and Simon Thomas.

The show is only a week into previews and ahead of next weeks official opening night (Tuesday 20 May 2008) the cast were all happy to discuss the show with our Theatregoers and ask for feedback. They also found time to sign autographs and pose for photos as they enjoyed a drink and a chat.

Thanks to all those who joined us last night. We look forward to seeing you on another Outing soon,
