Results- Week 2

Much of the humour which is evident in I’d Do Anything comes from the script. Graham said: “Andrew has a massive responsibility.” Not really, as if the show is critically derided, it will survive on its strong advance, alone. We next see a re-cap pf the performances.

The Nancy mission is very I’m A Celebrity …. Get Me Out Of Here. The girls have to face rats. What’s next? Eating a kangaroo’s penis, accompanied by Christopher Biggins? They also take part in a test of their acting ability, playing alongside Steve Hartley as Bill Sykes.

Sarah is very convincing, Rachel is strong, yet, Jodie, Sam and Jessie are disappointing. Tellingly, many of the others are not shown. Cut to Andrew sat stroking a rat like some sort of Bond villain, threatening to take over the West End! A group song follows, the classic disco hit “Enough Is Enough.”

RESULTS

When asked who was not Nancy, the panel picked the following:

John: Samantha (to which a relative shouted: “What?”)

Denise: Keisha

Barry: Keisha

Onto the results themselves; Ashley and Niamh are called and are clearly through, even though they look frightened when their names are called.

The next two through are Jessie & Jodie. Jodie overdoes the ‘I love the public’ bit again; the more I see her the more I think her personality would suit X Factor far more than this show.

Samantha is called next, alone and much to John’s annoyance, she is through. Francesca is also through.

Rachel & Sarah are also through.

This leaves Tara, Keisha and Cleo. Hopefully Tara will go……. but no, hold on… she is now through!

Cleo and Keisha sing “I Know Him So Well” to stay in. Vocally, Keisha is better but Cleo could have been that street girl, in terms of acting and I’m sure her vocals would strengthen.

Andrew sends Cleo home and then announces that “I don’t think that tonight is the right result.” Neither do I, as Tara should have left. She could end up doing a ‘Lewis’, at this rate! (Gawd help us, darlin’)

Cleo belts out a sterling “As Long As He Needs Me” and some of the other girls look relieved for two reasons; they are safe and she was better than them. It’s a cliche but I do think Cleo will have a career.

Tune in next week for Barry Humphries feedback on their looks, John’s triple compliments, Denise praising her old co-star and the Lord’s frowning expressions. Oh, and some singing!

I agree it really should have been Tara who went. Not only did she murder her song in the main show yesterday but she couldn’t hold a note in the group number in the results show either. Listening to her you wonder how the hell she got through the audition process.

Jodie is really annoying me. Denise seemed disappointed with the fact she couldn’t act. Surely it was obvious right from the start she couldn’t bloody act! I dislike her delivery of a song and I’m sorry but all this over exhuberance just seems very fake.

I think it was a shame that Cleo went. She has a cracking voice and although I’m not sure she’s a ‘Nancy’ I hope she gets her chance to shine somewhere else.

Yes I think Tara should have gone for the same reasons as listed above. I do like Sarah who really stood out for me last Saturday, probably the best individual performance of all. It is still very hard to choose one particular individual at the moment.
Barry is very entertaining with his comments, but he needs to toughen up and give more constructive criticism/feedback, in fairness to all of the prospective Nancy’s.
